In this talk Professor Giles Hammond from the University of Glasgow will review the imaging technology used in astronomical imaging and the advantages/disadvantages of the different sensor types. He will further highlight the processing techniques used to generate images of the night sky including raw frames, flat frames, dark frames and bias frames.

Finally, he will present some initial and final results and show how you can take images with your phone or digital camera.
