Did you know that pre-Iron Age people such as the ancient Greeks and Egyptians venerated and even used meteorite metal? Our understanding of meteorites has developed over the centuries and is still as important today.

Join Mike Alexander as he discusses the origin of meteorites and what they can tell us about the early Solar System. Presenting with Mike will be Dr Áine O’Brien, who is a space and climate scientist, with a PhD in Earth and Planetary Science from the University of Glasgow. She is currently working as a postdoctoral research associate in the School of Geographical and Earth Sciences, and is also part of the UK Fireball Alliance working to detect and retrieve meteorites.

They will also have some meteorite samples available for you to look at.
